KAREN JONES is a Certified Public Accountant and joined the firm in 2001. She became a Partner of Meador & Jones in 2004 and the firm’s Managing Partner in 2013.  Karen began her public accounting career at Ernst & Young and then worked in the financial services industry before joining the firm. With 29 years of accounting, tax and financial accounting experience, Karen’s expertise is in tax compliance and consulting. She has a concentration of clients in the real estate, manufacturing, oil & gas and professional services industries.

A graduate of Baylor University, Karen received a Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in Economics and Finance.  She also received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Both Karen and her husband Gary are lifelong residents of Austin and have raised their two daughters here. Karen maintains an active presence in her hometown.  She is currently a member of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy Behavioral Enforcement Committee.  She also serves as a Director for the Baylor Line Foundation and is a Board member of The Gathering at Community First! Austin.

Karen is an active member of her church and is also a past member of the American Heart Association Circle of Red. She previously served as a parent volunteer at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and as the Parent Council Treasurer for seven years.

Karen is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Austin Chapter of CPAs.   She has served as a Director for the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Karen is responsible for managing the firm and also for overseeing tax and accounting engagements.
